Update on the Clark's
So, I haven't been so great updating the blog lately...so sorry. I'll try to get better. Here's an update on the Clark's!
So far this fall has been full of firsts for Lady G. She said her first words "bye bye" and she walked for the first time (she hasn't walked on her own since, but she's super coordinated walking with help, so I think it'll be any time now). She also went to the LA County Fair (a friend has pictures, but alas, since I was carrying her, I don't). While at the Fair her foot got bit by a goat...silly goat. But she said the word 'goat'! HAAHAA!! So far to date she's said: bye-bye, goat, daddy, mamma, cat, dog and book. We also went to the Zoo for the first time. She saw a giraffe and was mezzmerized by the baby leopards (they act just like cats...she repeated the word 'cat' over and over again while pointing at the baby leopards). She now points and claps and signs 'all done' and 'bird'. She's a marvel everyday and so much fun! She loves books and wants them read to her over and over again all day long, if you let her. She's discovered the wonders of balls and bounces them and crawls over to pick it up just to bounce it again (sounds rudimentary, and it is, but her discovery is so astounding). She's playing with her toys now, instead of just putting them in her mouth (which she still does because more teeth are coming fast and furious). She's still not sleeping all the way through the night and the teething isn't helping our cause. Her hair is finally filling in all the way around her head and her face is starting to look like a little girl's rather than a baby. Finally, she shot a State Farm commercial when she was six months old that aired during the Home Run Derby and continues to air during all baseball games. I've never been so happy for the endless baseball season in my life! Man, oh, man...one always hears other parents talk about how 'it feels like it was only yesterday'...boy, they weren't kidding. She's almost a toddler and this year of baby went by so very very fast.
Here are some pictures of the the bug!
Update on Mamma and Papa Clark:
Matthew is still loving and enjoying his job. He just got an iPhone so his life has improved a thousand times! He's heading to Utah this weekend to see the BYU v. TCU game with his dad. We went to the Theodore Payne Fall Festival and nabbed some great deals on more native plants for our front yard. So our curb appeal will be shaping up even more in the next year. Matthew continues to amaze me by teaching himself computer languages...he picks up a book and reads it like a novel...crazy!
I've continued to go on auditions but still haven't gotten cast..still praying my luck will change in the next couple months (need to keep my SAG insurance). My Graves Disease seems to be somewhat controlled with medication. My doctor is still holding out hope that I'll go into remission...I truly truly hope he's right. Even on medication, this is still no walk in the park. I don't think I'll ever take being healthy for granted ever ever again. As exhausted as I am, my beautiful family continues to make me happy and excited for every day.
That's us in a nut shell from the end of the summer until now. Let's all pray for health, happiness and a temperate fall!
