The Family Grows and Grows

We came home yesterday to find a litter of alley cats darting in and out from underneath the cars parked along our street. We played with them for a while, then put out a bowl of food for the little scrappers. One orange and white boy had immediately gravitated towards me, and when I came out of the house shaking the bowl I had made from the bottom of a milk jug, he came running from two houses down. I started calling him Tiger--a name borrowed from previous orange male kats in my life. Slowly one of his sisters started up the stairs to our front porch and joined him at the bowl. The end of her tail had a strange bend, and I felt along the length of it, deciding there was definitely something broken. So, I began spitballing knicknames off of "Broken Tail:" BroTae, Brail, Taken, BroT...et cetera. We settled on TBro, which had a pretty cool ring, and to match, we named her brother Tigre (a play on Tiger). THEN, because the sister is grey colored, and the brother is her Bro, we decided to flip the names. Meet TGrey and TBro.
